Some nouns are used as plural forms, they have no singular forms
This category is kind of the opposite of the previous one. While learning English, you will notice that some nouns are used as plural forms. They have no singular forms. We are talking about plural nouns such as:
Spectacles, Sunglasses, Shorts, Scissors, Thanks, Savings, etc.
Let’s practice!
- Bob’s 👓 spectacles are big. (It is not acceptable to use ‘iS ‘ in this case)
- I like your shorts. They are cute! Where did you buy them? ( we don’t say it is cute)
- ` Can I borrow your pair of Scissors please?’(we can not say ‘scissor’ even if the person handed you one item!
