The minor word-class

Also Known as the closed word class.

The 4 minor word classes are pronouns, conjunctions, prepositions, and determines.

Note!

some people include interjections too.

Pronouns

A pronoun is a part of a speech that functions as a replacement for a noun

Conjunctions

This is a part of a speech that joins words, phrases, or clauses together.

Prepositions

Refer to words that specify a location or a location in time.

Determiners

A determiner is a word, phrase, or affix that occurs together with a noun or noun phrase and serves to express the reference of that noun or a noun phrase in the context.

Interjections

An interjection is a short exclamation(a word or group of words) that expresses emotion.

Parts Of Speech

The minor word-class

We call them minor or structured words because they help more in the structure of the sentence rather than content.

We call them closed because there are no new words are being added to this group.
