Nouns
This part of a speech refers to words that are used to name persons, things, animals, places, ideas, or events.
Verbs

Adjectives
Used to describe a noun or a pronoun.
Adverbs

The major word class
- We call them major because they carry most of the content or the meaning of any given sentence.
- We call them open because they are still being added to as new words are formed.
